July 3rd on Amelia Island is always a great place to be, and the downtown Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market is a destination not to be missed! Wynne Wilking with Amelia Naturals is taking some time off this summer, so now is the time to learn more about foot reflexology and stock up on her healthy salves and lip balms.

Robert Young with Ever Blooming Gardens will also be off for the next few weeks, but he will be bringing an astounding amount of landscaping plants, patio plants, fruit trees, ground covers, and blooming show pieces to the farmers market this week.

The Big Red Bus is our non-profit for the week. They are hosted by members of the American Legion Post Number 54. This past year has taken a toll on our local blood supply, so now is the time to donate. A single donation can save three lives! Don’t know if you can be a donor? No problem, stop by the bus and they will answer your questions.

The Market Place features nearly 40 tents of seasonal produce, wild caught shrimp, fresh baked breads, gluten-free and vegan specialties, fresh cut flowers, plants, blooming baskets, natural soaps and body products, natural insect spray, dips, spices, flavored salts, elderberry syrup, pecans, microgreens, chopped olive salad, dried fruits, and so much more! The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market is open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., every Saturday on North Seventh Street, between Centre and Alachua Streets, rain or shine.

Our sister market, Wildlight Market Place, will also be open just east of I-95 off State Road 200. This is a combined farmer and arts market that is open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. Wildlight is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., rain or shine. Both markets permit well-behaved, leashed pets.
