Past Regent Marie Santry, far left; and Linda Davis, chairman of the Community Service Committee, far right, present the award to Wild Amelia. Wild Amelia president Jody Hetchka accepts the Community Service Award from Ms. Santry, while Robyn Nemes, Junior Naturalist Program Coordinator, holds one of three workbooks she wrote for the program.

The Community Service Award was established in 1995 as a way for DAR chapters to recognize individuals or organizations for outstanding volunteer work in a variety of community endeavors, including environmental conservation.

Wild Amelia was formed 10 years ago to protect and showcase the wildlife and natural beauty of Amelia Island.
