Alligators are not unusual in Amelia Island’s creeks and waterways, but it is unusual to find them in the ocean. First Coast News captured the moment this weekend when a large ocean loving alligator was reeled in. To view film clip, click here.
They go in to cool off, biologist on Little St. Simons told me when I came within 2-3 feet of one. I was shelling, only person on their beach! I was rinsing shells off so making sounds that may have sounded like fish jumping. Big gator. Why was the gator put down?
