Manzie & Drake Land Surveying undertook a project to outline the magnificent oak canopy in Fernandina Beach and its surrounding areas. Mike Manzie and his team documented what they found to be  the largest oak trees in the area. To outline the importance of tree conservancy, it was decided to show the community which trees are designated Heritage Trees by introducing a “story map.”  This story map highlights the importance of the beautiful oak trees in our community.

Please scroll through and view our beautiful island trees, and encourage others to do the same.  If you have suggestions for trees to add, or questions regarding the project, please contact the Manzie & Drake office at 904-491-5700.

Please scroll through and encourage others to do the same. If you know any trees that you think would make this list, please contact our office and we would be happy to add to the list.

This is wonderful, thank you! I hope that when everyone takes the time to look and think about these incredible trees, they will become much more important to all!

A big thank you from Amelia Tree Conservancy to Manzie-Drake for seeking out and highlighting the magnificent oaks of Amelia Island. The comments accompanying each photo go a long way in educating residents and visitors about how trees contribute to our environment and well-being, other than with their natural beauty.
