Chad Barhorst, general manager of the Fernandina Beach Golf Course (FBGC) will leave Billy Casper Golf on July 17 to accept a regional manager position with an undisclosed golf company in California.  In his new position, Barhorst will oversee four golf courses.

In Barhorst’s resignation letter he said, “I received an offer that I could not turn down, and this offer will allow me to continue to grow my career.”

Barhorst was complimentary of Billy Casper Golf.  “The wealth of knowledge that is at our fingertips as managers of Billy Casper Golf properties allows us the tools necessary to succeed in business and in life.”

He also complimented the staff at the FBGC and said, “I will miss working with this staff, as it was undoubtedly the best I have been with so far.”

Special recognition was given to FBGC superintendent Buddy Tate saying, “I have full confidence in the superintendent at this facility [FBGC], and believe he does a great job for the resources he is given. Buddy’s positive attitude and wealth of knowledge will carry him a long way in his career,” says Barhorst.

According to Dan Zimmer, director of operations for Billy Casper Golf, “We are already in the hiring process for his [Barhorst’s] replacement and will move as quickly as possible.”  Barhorst arrived at the Fernandina facility in March of 2013.
