Covid-19 schedule changes for library events

Nassau County Library System
March 12, 2020

The reception for the “Native American Art” exhibit scheduled for this Saturday, March 14, will be postponed and rescheduled for a later date in April. Further details will be announced once they become available.

The exhibit is currently on display through April 30 and includes examples of many Native American art techniques along with educational materials from the Teacher’s Traveling Art Exhibit for schools and libraries.

Represented are the major Native American regions, including the Northeast, Plains, Southwest, Southeast and Northwest, offering viewers a broad cross-section of Native American art forms. These include prints, masks, rugs, rattles, shields and kachinas.

The exhibit is augmented with actual art objects on display from several local Fernandina Beach community members with significant personal collections of Native American art. They have generously loaned items from their collection for our community to enjoy.

Additional pictures and information will be available upon request. Gallery hours are every Wednesday 2-4 pm and Saturday 2-4 pm, and upon request.

The Nassau County Library System announces that the free Ukulele Concert scheduled for March 16 at the Fernandina Public Library has been cancelled.
