Cummer Amelia to offer Virtual Cooking Class!

Cummer Amelia is very excited to present its first-ever virtual cooking class on Thursday, November 19, at 6 p.m. with Chef’s Garden, the Cummer Museum Cafe’s catering company.  Following along with Jen and Jamey from Chef’s Garden, participants will prepare Coq au Vin, a classic French stew in which chicken thighs are braised slowly in red wine and a little brandy to yield a delicious dish that includes mushrooms, bacon, carrots and onions.   The entrèe will be served with roasted red potatoes and accompanied by a Haricot Vert salad.  Dessert is not included but can be ordered separately.  The virtual class, ingredients for two entrées, and delivery is $85, plus applicable tax.  Participants will be introduced to skills as the class proceeds including essential knife skills and how to braise and sear.

Simply place an order and receive a confirmation. On the day of the class, participants will receive a fresh ingredient kit and an email invitation to the virtual cooking classroom.

Cummer Amelia is one of two Affinity Groups of the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens in Jacksonville. More than 120 Nassau County residents support the Museum through social and educational programs throughout the year. The group offers Museum members unique opportunities to become more involved in the Museum’s mission on a local level.

Annual membership in Cummer Amelia is just $25, in addition to annual Museum dues at any membership level.
