volunteer-center-headerThe Nassau County Volunteer Center announces the 27th annual Holiday “Adopt-A-Family” program, through which Nassau County residents, businesses, churches, Civic and other organizations can make the holidays happier for those in need. The Volunteer Center’s Adopt-a-Family program is the original holiday gift-giving program in Nassau County and should not be confused with other programs. The Volunteer Center helps clients from the Barnabas Center, the Head Start programs in Nassau County (Peck Center and Callahan), Family Support Services, and the Council on Aging.

Donations of gift cards, clothing, or toys to an entire family (large or small), to a senior, or to a foster child to brighten their holiday season are needed NOW. In still challenging economic times, many families are struggling to provide holiday cheer to their own children, but donors can brighten the holiday season for these families in
need—all of which have been screened by local social service agencies.

To get involved with sharing the spirit of the holiday season and making wishes come true, call the Nassau County Volunteer Center at 904-261-2771, or email the Center at [email protected]. Volunteering never felt so good!
