Tree Conservancy Celebrates 10 Years

Amelia Tree Conservancy is marking its 10th anniversary of protecting Amelia Island’s tree canopy. A decade of close communication with local organizations, planning and zoning, and other county and city officials has enabled ATC to educate, preserve and advocate for island trees.

The pubic is invited to attend a celebration Wednesday, April 12 at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club, 2800 Melton Rd. It starts with a “meet & greet” at 5:30, followed by a 6:15 program.

This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Taylor Clem speaking on balancing development with the tree canopy. Dr. Clem holds degrees in landscape architecture and a doctorate in horticulture science. He is now serving as Nassau County’s Horticulture Extension Agent and County Extension Director.
