Write-in candidate Don Tanner has withdrawn from the District 5 race for Nassau County Board of County Commissioners. Justin Taylor, who won the Republican Primary election for this seat on August 30, will therefore be declared the winner of this contest, in the absence of any competition in the November 8 general election.

Nassau County Supervisor of Elections Vicki Cannon reports that her staff is in the process of finalizing ballot information for the November election. If any additional candidates withdraw before the ballot is finalized, their names will not appear. If any candidates withdraw after the ballot has been finalized, their names will appear on the ballot, but votes cast for them will not count.

There is still time to register to vote in the November 8 general election, which will also include city elections for Fernandina Beach, Callahan and Hilliard.

For all information on how to register, change address or party, mail ballots and polling places, consult the Supervisor of Elections web site: www.votenassau.com.
