The National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) has declared the month of September as National Senior Center Month. Begun in 1979 with support from the U.S. Senate and the House Special Select Committee on Aging, Senior Center Month celebrates the important role senior centers play in enhacing the lives of senior citizens. This year’s theme, announced by NISC, is “Find Your Balance at Your Center.”
