Close to 100 trees were uprooted and numerous homes damaged following a mid afternoon storm in the Yulee area. High winds caused a tracker-trailer truck to overturned on State Road 200 bringing traffic to a standstill.
WJXT reported damage to homes on Pages Dairy Road. The following photos was taken of one of the many homes damaged in the Meadowfield subdivision.
One home owned by Nassau County Tax Collector John Drew, suffered window damage. His wife Catherine and son Joseph sought shelter in a closet as glass flew from a shattered window throughout the house. “The whole house was shaking,” according to Catherine Drew.
