New business and building report: March 2017

The Fernandina Observer welcomes the following businesses newly licensed – or relicensed — to operate in our city last month:

During March 2017, the city surveyed 414 permits, an increase of 73 over March 2016. This brought the city $412,577 in fees. Permits were issued for 28 new residential buildings and one commercial building. Mechanical permits (70) and roofing permits (60) accounted for the highest number by category.

The year-to-date permit total is 979: 104 more than for the comparable period last year with new commercial and residential construction permits up 6 from 39 at this time in 2016.
