A new enhanced printing of the best selling book Great Homes of Fernandina has just been released. The new book, Great Homes and Churches – Architectural Treasures of Amelia Island is an expanded edition of the earlier book. The new edition is 80 pages which includes the original 25 profiles of Historic District homes and in addition 9 profiles of historic churches. A walking/driving tour map is included.

Dickie Anderson, an island writer and docent at the Amelia Island Museum of History, has a passion for the Historic District’s beautiful homes and churches. She shares, “Amelia Island’s Historic district offers a living museum. Like sleeping beauties, Amelia Island’s Victorian period homes and historic churches have been frozen in time. Built in the late 1800s and early 1900s each offers a story about the people and events that shaped the history of Florida’s most northern barrier island.”

Phyllis Davis, Executive Director of the Amelia Island Museum of History, shared, “Written to highlight the beautiful homes of Amelia Island, Dickie Anderson’s book is a testament to the importance of the preservation of Florida’s historic resources. Dickie is an ardent supporter and ambassador for Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island and its rich history.”

Anderson is available as a speaker for groups and clubs. The book priced at $17.95 is available at The Book Loft, Story & Song Bookstore and Bistro, Front and Centre, The Amelia Island Museum of History, Courtyard and SpringHill Suites Amelia Island gift shops.
