The Fernandina Observer welcomes the following businesses newly licensed to operate in our city last month.
During May 2016, the city surveyed 290 permits, compared with 282 surveyed during April 2016. This activity brought the city $189,725 in fees. Permits were issued for 13 new residential buildings. In May 2015, only 4 permits were issued for new buildings, all residential. Building permits for the first 5 months of 2016 are running far ahead of last year, 1,525 to 1,223.
