Dale Martin, city manager of Fernandina Beach reports that “additional law enforcement assets, including the National Guard, have been requested for post-storm efforts.” A previous communication from Martin requested residents of Amelia Island leave now.
Martin said, “public safety personnel and equipment will be leaving tomorrow (Friday) and their return to the island will be conditional upon the after-effects of the storm.” He added, ” . . . Given the growing severity of the storm, may not be as soon as people expect.
