At the 61st Annual Adrian Awards Gala in New York on February 20, 2018, the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) honored the Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) with multiple awards, including a prestigious Best of Show Award in Digital Marketing for its “Destination Dysfunction” video. After winning a Gold Award in the Digital Marketing Division (Video), the entry was selected from among all gold award winners for a Platinum Award, and ultimately selected as one of just three Best of Show Awards, the competition’s highest honor.  All told, elements of the Amelia Island CVB’s successful “Dysfunction” campaign won a Best of Show Award, Platinum Award, two Gold Awards, two Silver Awards and one Bronze Award, in what is the world’s largest and most prestigious travel marketing competition.

“We’re honored to be recognized among such a distinguished group of industry peers and partners and to have our marketing efforts honored among the best of the best creatively,” said Gil Langley, President and CEO of the Amelia Island CVB. “This showing speaks directly to our marketing team’s ability to continually create strategies to effectively connect this destination with visitors.”

In addition to the Best of Show Award, Platinum Award and Gold Award in the Digital Marketing Video category, the CVB’s “Destination Dysfunction” campaign won awards for Digital Marketing Web Ads (Gold), Digital Marketing Websites (Silver), Complete Campaigns (Silver), and Television (Bronze).

HSMAI paid tribute to the Amelia Island CVB and other winners during the annual HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala, a black-tie affair attended by more than 800 hospitality, travel and tourism marketing executives at the New York Marriott Marquis on Feb. 20, which honors excellence in travel advertising, digital marketing and public relations.

In addition to commending the Amelia Island CVB’s award-winning work, the Gala and dinner reception honored lifetime achievement in travel/hospitality marketing, as well as The HSMAI Top 25: Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Optimization. All winning entries will be accessible in the Adrian Awards Winners Gallery online following the gala at www.AdrianAwards.com. Visit the site for more information on the event and competition.
