Hard landing at Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport

Airport LandingThe Fernandina Beach Police and Fire Departments responded to a reported small aircraft incident at the Municipal Airport at approximately 11:00 AM today. Pilot Don Edlin of Fernandina Beach was not injured and his light sport two seat aircraft received only minor damage as the nose wheel apparently collapsed upon landing on runway 31. The runway was reopened within two hours once the investigation was cleared by the FAA and the aircraft removed. There was no damage to the runway or fuel leak from the aircraft.

So glad that Mr. Edlin was not injured and his plane only suffered minor damage. Kudos to the first responders.
