John Carr, Griffin Bowen, and Kathy Russell put the finishing touches on the new Greenway ADA access point located on Atlantic Avenue in Fernandina Beach.

Welcome to the new Americans with Disabilities Act access to the new viewing platform at the north end of the Greenway, near the Atlantic Avenue Recreation Center.

This access point will offer an excellent opportunity to see our many migratory visitors in the cooler weather and also great opportunities to check out our many resident birds in the warmer weather. There may be chances to see otters, gators, deer and many other types of wildlife.

So, come on down and enjoy the view! It is now open from daylight to dark every day of the week.

Can’t wait to check it out. We love walking the greenway and our dog Willy never tires of the scents and spotting of occasional deer or egrets, wood storks. Sadly the north end has a dearth of alligators. Must have moved to the south end near fresher water.
