George E. Miller II Exhibition showing at Fernandina Beach Library

Reception for Child Advocacy Artist George E. Miller Friends of the Library is pleased to announce a new art exhibit in the Fernandina Beach Library Community Room Gallery, showing the work of George E. Miller II, a national child advocacy artist. The exhibit will hang from February 1 thru March 30, 2019. There will be a reception for the artist on Monday, February 11 , 2019 from 5-7 pm at the Fernandina Beach Library located at 4th Street, Fernandina Beach, FL.

George has devoted the past twenty years to creating artwork that advocates for education, literacy, acceptance of diversity and well-being of children. His artwork addresses such issues as dropout prevention, child abuse prevention, mental health and autism, as well as the joy of reading. He has been commissioned by numerous national child advocacy organizations such as The Child Welfare League of America, The National Youth at Risk Association, The Federation of Families, The Florida Coalition for Children and the Florida Network of Child Advocacy Centers to name a few to create a specific painting.

In 2015, Florida’s 1st Lady, Ann Scott and Governor Rick Scott chose George as the Black History Month Artist for the State of Florida.
