FSCJThe FSCJ Nassau Center Fall Festival held on Saturday, November 7th, in commemoration of the college’s 50th anniversary was a huge success! Almost 400 people, from Fernandina Beach, Yulee, Hilliard, Callahan, St. Mary’s, and north Jacksonville, attended. Over 50 volunteers worked to ensure that the event run smoothly. Activities included a petting zoo, Daffie the face painting clown, a book giveaway, Curious George, carnival games with prizes, relay races sponsored by the Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physical Therapy Assistant programs, and a hotdog lunch. FSCJ Partners, including Nassau County Economic Development Board, Amelia Island Book Festival, Nassau County School Board Culinary Program, Dual Enrollment and the Yulee Public Library, participated with information tables.

A program was presented after lunch featuring Chair Jimmie Mayo as the special guest. Chair Mayo shared an inspiring message about the importance of education, hard work, and pursuing your dreams. Anniversary cake was served after the program. It was a pleasure to see so many young families having fun at the Nassau Center. Each family left with a gift bag that included a 50th Anniversary stadium cup, FSCJ pen, and information about our Associate in Art degree Roadmap, Cardiovascular Technology program, Business Administration Associate in Science, Emergency Medical Technician, and our Library and Learning Commons services. Thank you to everyone who attended and participated!
