Editor’s Note: At approximately 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night, Florida Public Utility posted the following:
ATTENTION FERNANDINA BEACH & AMEILA ISLAND CUSTOMERS: Currently, we have restored power to 90% of the island’s customers [please see outage map below]. The extensive damage to our on-island primary circuits has been completely repaired. The more time consuming work of clearing the tree damage and repairing the distribution lines that serve neighborhoods and individual homes is well underway. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
