Continuing on a tradition of pairing the cinematic and automotive arts, the Amelia Motoring Film Exhibition returns for its third year Thursday March 7, to usher in the Amelia Concours weekend.

“For me, this event has always been about bringing together my passions as a filmmaker and as an petrol head,” said event founder Guy Smith. “There’s so much to celebrate when it comes to the art of the automobile and the culture that revolves around motoring, and so many fantastic films that embody that spirit.”

The evening begins with a reception marked by light appetizers and cocktails from 6-7 p.m., giving visitors plenty of opportunity to enjoy the rare and vintage automobiles on display. At 7 p.m. films take center stage. Including a short film directed by Smith, “Running with Pop,” that discovers how a dilapidated 1967 Camaro barn-find creates powerful community and family connections.

Once again the event will wave the checkered flag on the Hagerty Touring Series – Amelia Island or Bust Edition rally. Participating vehicles will be on display during the exhibition, giving guests a chance to get up close and personal with these marvelous machines. The Hagerty rally starts in Allentown Pennsylvania on March 2nd with a scenic route that leads cars & drivers through Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia before arriving in Amelia Island on Thursday March 7.

“In addition to the Hagerty tour cars being on display, Hagerty will show their latest video content to our audience,” said Smith. “I particularly enjoy their engine build time-lapse films and Tom Cotter’s ‘Barn Find Hunter’.”

The event’s featured movie is the award winning dramatic race film, “A Sicilian Dream”, about the history of the Targa Floria races in Sicily. Presented by racing legend Alain de Cadenet and Francesco Da Mosta, the film tells the story of Sicilian entrepreneur Vincenzo Florio’s passion for motoring which led to the creation of one of the greatest open road endurance races in the world.

Tickets are $20 and should be purchased in advance online at www.ameliamotoringfilmexhibition.com. The exhibition is expected to sell-out for third consecutive year. For more information and ticket availability, please visit: ameliamotoringfilmexhibition.com
