The view from the back door of Fernandina Beach City Hall these days is changing rapidly. Following the Historic District Council’s (HDC) conceptual approval of a new townhouse development for the site (see https://fernandinaobserver.com/2017/01/23/changes-in-store-for-former-lumberyard-property-on-s-3rd-street/) property owners have begun demolishing the sheds and storage structures that once belonged to Fernandina Lumber. City staff expects that the residential project will return to the HDC for final approval in April.
