On April 30, Fernandina Beach Market Place will be closed due to  Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival.

Knots N Stitches, will showcase their crafts on this Saturday’s Fernandina Beach Arts Market.

The Fernandina Beach Arts Market and the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market will both be open Saturday, in historic downtown, rain or shine. Located on North Seventh Street, the farmers market boasts over 40 tents of fresh and natural products. The Arts Market, located adjacent to the farmers market, has 30 additional booths of fine arts and crafts.

Join us in the farmers market as Chesser Seafood brings back some Royal Red Shrimp as well as the wild caught, Atlantic white shrimp we find in our local waters. These folks sell out every Saturday, no matter how much shrimp they bring, call Debbie or Eddie Chesser at (904) 509-3337 to reserve your fresh shrimp.

The farmer’s market is introducing a new vendor, Sweet Sugar Society, they make cookie and cupcake decorating kits for any event! From holidays to birthday parties and just because, reserve your Easter kit Saturday at the Market Place.

This is the first week the Carter Family Homestead will be harvesting fresh garlic for the farmer’s market. 21 Queen Street Coffee, Rose’s Unbelievable Egg Rolls, and Hillary’s Chicago Pizza are also returning on Saturday to join our weekly staples of fresh baked breads, wild Alaskan Salmon, seasonal produce, hot sauces, dips, rubs, bath and body products, and so much more.

Over in the Arts Market we will have Lottie Dottie Art. This is where the artist creates pen and ink images using lots of dots, also known as stippling. She uses pens with very fine tips and it takes many hours and thousands of dots to stipple one creative, original, work of art. Her blank greeting cards are perfect for the approaching Easter and Mother’s Day holidays. Knots N Stitches is a newer vendor who creates crochet and amigurumi, the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed, yarn creatures. Fairwinds Sailbag Company is also in the Arts Market Saturday and they make unique items, including bags and totes, from recycled boat sails. These are just a few of the artists that will have their handcrafted trades on display as well as other jewelry, apparel, woodworking, metal work, local authors, and other vendors.

Our Booth with A Cause is the Amelia Island Book Festival. This is a local non-profit who is setting up a tent to promote their upcoming events. Their mission is to enhance the overall life skills of Nassau County children and adults by generating a lifelong love of books through an appreciation of reading, writing, and authors. We offer a free booth space to our local non-profits as well as traditional brick and mortar businesses located in our downtown area. Find us online or on-site to learn more about these great programs.

The Fernandina Beach Market Place is open every Saturday, and the Fernandina Beach Arts Market is open on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Both markets are open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and can be found online, and on Facebook. Your well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome, too.
