Bark and Bake Dog Treats

Fernandina Beach is home to Florida’s Friendliest Farmers Market and it will be open on North Seventh Street Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This weekly market offers our community a varied selection of seasonal produce, fresh baked breads, bath and body products, and so much more. Open rain or shine, there will be Gypsy Microgreens, fresh blueberries from Morning Belle Farms, strawberries grown by King’s Kountry Produce, hydroponically grown salad greens, including kale, from Bacon’s Select Produce, and Boatright Farms is known for their fresh squash, and field peas.

Everblooming Gardens has a huge selection of landscaping plants, and Seven Trees Nursery brings herbs, flowering baskets, and succulents

Just some of the booths attending the Fernandina Beach Market Place include Ferra’s Bakery with all of the breads you love as well as calzones, focaccia, baklava, and spanakopita, while Great Harvest Bread Company offers loaves of bread sweetened with honey, cinnamon buns, and fabulous cookies. Are you looking for Vegan options in a bakery? We have you covered with Vegan Amelia’s delicious baked goods. Fresh from the oven specialties include Lizzie’s Cheese Straws in a variety of flavors, and Amelia Granola is tempting your taste buds with Apple Cinnamon, Strawberries and Cream, Peanut Butter and Chocolate, Salted Caramel Pretzel, and more.

Two body product vendors include Osborne Ranch who brings handcrafted soaps, sugar scrubs and loofahs grown in Fernandina Beach, and all-natural insect repellent will be set up in the market, too. Other vendors include dog treats, wild caught shrimp, dips, salmon, beef, rubs, hot sauce, flavored salts, sauces, and many others.

The One Blood Bus will be on-site and hosted by the wonderful folks from American Legion Post 54, Bruce Beville will be our musician, and All American Gutter is this week’s market sponsor. Our sister market, the Wildlight Market Place will be open from 10:00 to 2:00 at 123 Tinker Street, just east of I95.

Be sure you are comfortable in crowds. When we went last week, most folks did not have masks and the crowds made walking difficult – especially when a large group with dogs gathered right in the middle of the street leaving a single file passage way on one side.
