As of 4:09 p.m. today, the Fernandina Beach Fire Rescue Department is flying double red flags at main beach to note severe storm warnings in the area. The following text message was sent:
“Severe storm warning. Seek shelter immediately. Severe surf conditions with potential for rip currents to form.”
