Divas Day Out 2015

Ladies of all ages (and men brave enough to join them!) are invited to the fifth annual Divas’ Day Out, a benefit for Amelia Island nonprofit Girl Power 2 Cure, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Atlantic Rec Center, 2500 Atlantic Ave., in Fernandina Beach. Support Girl Power 2 Cure’s mission to cure Rett Syndrome while having fun! We’ll be channeling girl power by entertaining, delighting and informing you with:

  • 30 vendor booths featuring jewelry, home goods, beauty products, health and fitness, and more.
  • On-stage entertainment, including an adults’ and kids’ fashion show, fitness demos, women’s self defense demo and dances including aerial dance, ballroom dancing and kids’ dancing.
  • Fun for kids, including Royal Amelia Dance Academy’s “Diva Dress Up” booth, free hair styling and glitter tattoos by Paul Mitchell The School Jacksonville, painting with Paisley Grace Designs, Cliff Drysdale Tennis School’s free learn-to-play tennis clinic, face painting by Debra Heuskin, and Miss Mascot Rentals’ costumed characters (10 a.m. to 12 p.m. )
  • Valuable prizes and giveaways.

Entry is a $3 donation per person, children 5 and under get in free.

All entry fees and giveaway ticket purchases support Girl Power 2 Cure’s mission to bring an end to Rett Syndrome, the most severe form of autism, which strikes almost exclusively in girls and takes away their motor skills. It is a sad disorder, but there is great hope as researchers continue to make strides toward finding a cure.
