Just remember the last candidate to sigh on was James Higginbotham, the front man for “Concerned Citizens for a Better Nassau County”. This is a slick Propaganda group Out of Tallahassee, with a couple local Guys pushing their agenda in our County, specifically in Fernandina Beach. This Group is comprised of Developers, Contractors, Builders, Lobbyist, and a slick advertising concern, handling their communications. This Group has Nothing to do with the local Folks in Nassau County’ Beware.

It’s been tough over the years to keep Jim B. Higginbotham and James L. Higginbotham separate, the mind somehow wants to conflate the two men. James L. chairs the Citizens for Concerned Nassau and Jim B. is the candidate running for election today. This is an important distinction, and I think I have this right, is there a confirmation from the floor?

Honest to goodness, I really don’t think that’s it. The only person from Tallahassee is the individual who registered the group with the Department of State; the members of the Coalition are all from Nassau County, or own businesses located in the county [acording to my search].

I also don’t think they’re principally aiming their efforts on-island. We’ll have to wait and see what’s beyond their glossy launch, but until they disappoint, I’m putting faith in their mission. There are 3 coalition members from the South end that I know personally to be high-integrity gentlemen with deep roots and impeccable records for community service.

If the first sentence of their manifesto states we’ve got a financial meltdown on our hands, then that says they’re going after the County Auditor. This was the final nail in his coffin for me:

It is confusing since both previously served as Nassau County Commissioners, but two different people. Jim B. also worked for the City for quite a number of years as head of the Public Works departments.

My Apology To Mr. Jim B. Higginbotham. I was Confused, Didn’t know there were two of you.
