Dear Fellow Citizens,

I am thrilled at the opportunity to serve with a mindset optimism and fresh approaches. I was born and raised in Fernandina Beach and worked during the summer for Nassau County Ocean Rescue for 4 seasons between high school and college breaks. I completed 4 years in Nashville, TN with professional education in Commercial Music Business at Belmont University before returning to Fernandina Beach in 2005 where I have since build a successful career inspired by my passion of creativity and community service. I have comprehensive experience of permitting, budgeting, research and analysis, forecasting and projections, p&l composition, marketing and graphic design and social marketing. I have a passion for service work and have organized and managed charity events within our community generating over $100,000 to local causes. Most importantly I know how to connect with people and breath life into vision. I look forward to continue serving my community and bridging the gap for a more diversified voice.

I believe there is something incredibly powerful that connects us to our hometown. Especially this one. From childhood memories of catching fiddler crabs in Egans Creek to now raising a child of my own 30 years later, I am driven now more than ever to take on a more active role in the direction of our community. I feel that the citizens of Fernandina Beach could benefit from the added perspective of a working class parent. That is if the goal is to preserve our small town cultural balance by retaining middle class and family values. We’ve all read the famous quote

“Unless you’ve walked a mile in my shoes..”

My intention is to contribute to the operation of our city as a liaison for for the working/middle class and small business owners whose livelihood and survival are dependent upon the direction and core values of local government. As a permanent resident and homeowner who feels the impact of increased taxes, works for a paycheck and sees the policy intentions becoming less and less transparent. Its time for a more vibrant and proactive representation from the point of view of a native who can identify first hand with those whose livelihood is directly impacted by the action (or lack there of) our City’s decision makers.

  • Parks & Rec Dept
  • Community Events
  • Development of a satellite snacks & refreshments shop or kiosk during Marina construction
  • Establishment and implementation of more community events engaging a broader demographic. Examining the current budget and layout to shift some emphasis and resources towards off-season events.
  • Protection of our beach rights

Editor’s Note: Cason Zylinski will face incumbent Vice Mayor Len Kreger in the Group 5 race for a seat on the Fernandina Beach City Commission.
