July 22, 2014 10:00 a.m.

Most people agree that 8th Street/SR 200/A1A is an eyesore today for visitors arriving on Amelia Island via the Shave Bridge. The city is working on measures to improve the appearance of properties along this road within the city limits. How would you propose to improve the appearance of properties along the county’s portion of this road?

“I would like to meet with all of the property owners along this portion of 8th Street and discuss the possibility of establishing Public-Private Partnerships. It has worked for the county on two (2) projects; one in the City of Fernandina Beach and one in the County. The BOCC has been able to save the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars utilizing this option.”
