Jeffrey Bunch has been promoted to the Director of Facilities for the Nassau County School District.

Mr. Bunch is a lifelong resident of Amelia Island, a 4th generation islander and an 8th generation County resident. Upon leaving Fernandina Beach High School, he attended Florida Fire College and began his career as a firefighter with the City of Fernandina Beach in 1982 and was the Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal upon his retirement after 26 years of service. After the tragedy of 9/11, he was one of the 16 Fire Marshals in the nation selected to perform security and safety inspections at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Park City, Utah.

He began his career with the School District in 2008 as a Mechanical Inspector and was then promoted to the position of Operations Manager in 2013. “I am dedicated to improving the learning environment for all students by providing a safe and comfortable environment while ensuring effective and efficient operations. I look forward to serving the residents of the District for many years to come.”

Mr. Bunch lives in Fernandina Beach with his wife and two dogs and enjoys gardening in his spare time.
