John Stack who announced his intention to run for District 5 Nassau County Board of Commission (NCBC) in October of 2015, has withdrawn his candidacy.  Since Stack had declared no party affiliation (NPA), the District 5 race was to be decided during the November election. Unless a NPA or a non-Republican candidate files before June 24, the District 5 election will be open to all voters regardless of party affiliation and the final outcome of the District 5 race will be determined during the August 30 election.

Klynt Alan Farmer, Justin M. Taylor, and Joe Zimmerman all Republicans are vying for the  District 5 seat held by Walter J. “Junior” Boatright who is not seeking reelection to the NCBC.   Boatright is seeking the office of Nassau County Clerk of Courts opposing current Clerk John Crawford.
