During the 2019 Florida Tourism Forum (Nov. 18-20), the Amelia Island Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) won a total of seven Flagler Awards for outstanding tourism marketing, including Best of Show. The CVB took top honors in the Social Media Marketing and Tourism Advocacy categories, accepting two coveted Henry Awards and a Best of Show trophy during the award ceremony, Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Sheraton Panama City Beach Golf & Spa Resort. The CVB also won Silver Awards in the Niche Marketing and Print Advertising categories and Bronze Awards in the Mobile Marketing and Mixed Media Campaign categories.

This marks the 5th time Amelia Island has been named “Best of Show”  over the past 10 years.

“Maintaining an effective, comprehensive marketing campaign is more vital than ever to the success of our local tourism industry, which in turn is vital to the economic health of our community,” said Gil Langley, president and CEO of the Amelia Island CVB. “It’s gratifying to have our team’s work recognized as the best of the best among Florida marketers, which would not happen in this increasingly competitive environment without the continued support of our industry partners.”

A perennial favorite among Flagler Award judges, the CVB won Henry Awards for its “Amelia Island Documentary Social Video” (Social Media Marketing) and the “Amelia Island Tourism Leadership” campaign (Tourism Advocacy), which also won Best of Show. Silver Awards were won for the CVB’s “Shrimp Days of Summer” campaign (Niche Marketing) and Advertorial Series (Print Advertising), along with Bronze Awards for the cutting-edge Amelia Island Augmented Reality Mobile App (Mobile Marketing) and Amelia Island Augmented Reality Experience (Mixed Media Campaign). The CVB has won at least one Henry Award for seven consecutive years.

As the state’s annual tourism marketing competition, the Flagler Awards recognize Florida’s travel businesses and organizations that demonstrate outstanding tourism marketing efforts. Each year, the Flagler Awards honor many of the countless individuals and organizations that help position Florida as a premier travel destination and pay tribute to the determined efforts of those who help ensure the continued success of the state’s most important industry.
