Do you love quilting and fabric arts? Have treasured quilts made by family members? Then join the Amelia Island Quilt Guild on February 17, 2018, 11:00-3:30 p.m. While celebrating its 30th anniversary, the guild will host a luncheon featuring professional quilter and collector, Nancy Wines. Ms. Wines, will speak on the history of quilting and its evolution to the arts quilts we see today. The event is held to celebrate the guild’s 30-year anniversary and to raise support for the quilters contributions to Nassau County.

These quilts could be yours! Raffle Quilt (R) and Silent Auction Quilt created by Ellie Boette (R).

This past year, guild members completed and donated over 180 quilts to various charities including Families in Transition, Council on Aging, Community Hospice and Palliative Care, Pink Ladies Cancer Support and others. In addition to the guest speaker, the guild will sponsor a boutique selling quilts and other gifts.

Members are selling tickets for a raffle quilt and a silent auction quilt. The silent auction quilt was created by quilter Ellie Boette, is based on pictures from the book “Good Night Florida”, written by Adam Gamble and Cooper Kell. Tickets are $40; event held at Fernandina Beach Recreation Center, 2500 Atlantic Avenue, 11:00-3:30. For more information and tickets: contact AIquilters.com.
