cakeBe sure to be there to help find “who dunnit it”, when a “killer cake” proves deadly for “The Judge” in the Amelia Island Book Festival’s (AIBF) second annual Murder Mystery Dinner to support the Festival’s longstanding Authors in Schools Literacy Program.

Set for Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at 6:15 p.m. at the Golf Club of Amelia Island, 4700 Amelia Island Pkwy, Amelia Island, FL 32034, the audience interactive play “Just Desserts”, directed by Kate Hart, finds Judge Reginald P. Cogsworth, a curmudgeon who hates sweets, grudgingly judging a charity bakeoff, where countless entries have been whittled down to three.

A delicious, delightful and dangerous evening of fun is in store for the audience when the judge’s tastings prove that desserts can be deadly. Attendees will help find clues as well as be treated to a mystery drink, a gourmet sit-down dinner with a “deadly dessert”, prizes and surprises galore.

“This was an oversold event last year, so get your tickets early,” says Elsa Mitschele, AIBF Board Director and this year’s Murder Mystery Dinner chairperson. Tickets are $100, including the three-course gourmet dinner, show, mystery drink and prizes. A portion of the ticket is tax deductible and proceeds support the Authors in Schools Literacy Program.
