In August 2020, the Northeast Florida Regional Council (NEFRC) issued the attached Press Release regarding a new task force which will study individual counties’ resilience or ability to “bounce back” to normal conditions after an uncontrollable event such as a pandemic or major storm. The Task Force will be known as the “Economic Resilience Task Force” and will focus on the 7 counties and 26 municipalities currently served by the NEFRC, including Nassau County.

We are proud to announce that County Manager, Taco E. Pope, AICP, has been invited to participate on the Task Force to represent Nassau County. Together, the members will access the conditions of local municipalities following the Coronavirus pandemic and recommend strategies on short-term economic recovery objectives.

The Task Force will hold their first meeting on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Members of the public are highly encouraged to participate to ask questions and provide input. Instructionsfor joining the meeting virtually are attached. The agenda will be available early next week.

Also attached is a document containing an overview of the task force charge, membership structure and overall priorities.

If you have any questions, please contact Sean D. Lahov, Resiliency Coordinator for the NEFRC, at (904) 279-0880, ext. 111 or via email at [email protected].
