Walmart does not honor the sales tax holiday on batteries. I was charged sales tax just yesterday for D size batteries, even after I brought it to the attention of the cashier that I wanted to take advantage of the sales tax holiday. I was sent to customer service, where I waited for fifteen minutes, only to be told Walmart isn’t honoring the Dale’s tax holiday for batteries. How sad. Size D batteries are a staple of a disaster preparedness kit. Needless to say, I won’t be a frequent Walmart shopper going forward.
