Doug Adkins receives award.

Hilliard, Florida. Dayspring Village and Dayspring Senior Living Executive Director and CEO Douglas D. Adkins was recognized at the Florida Assisted Living Association’s annual conference Gala August 1, 2018 with the “2018 Sid Rosenblatt Excellence in Leadership Award”, the highest level of recognition awarded in the Assisted Living Facility profession.

Mr. Adkins was elected to a seat on the Florida Assisted Living Association Board (FALA) in 2017-2018 as the Northeast Florida Regional Director. At the 2018 conference Mr. Adkins won a contested statewide board seat and will return to the FALA board for the 2018-2019 year.

“The Dayspring Communities and out staff deserve the biggest share of this statewide recognition. It is through their professionalism and dedication to the care they provide each day to our residents that we are able to make progress in improving the lives of so many people who call our community home.” Said Adkins.

“I tell our staff all the time they are engaged in the practice of health care and each day they are building that practice by what they do and what they choose not to do. It is critical they have a sense of urgency about the care of each person, these lives of our residents are precious and important and we must help them live the best quality of life possible.” Said Adkins

“We have had four deficiency free state surveys and I give much of the credit for this work to our team of professionals that work hard each day to help ensure our residents are being successful. Over the last 30 years we have served 3800 adults with serious mental illness at Dayspring Village and in 2016 we opened our new Senior Living facility two miles south on our 36 acres campus in Hilliard.” Said Adkins.

“I am pleased to announce we are expecting to start construction soon on building two at Dayspring Senior Living which will open up an addition 32 beds on our campus and create new health care jobs in Nassau County. We are excited to be partnering with Community First Credit Union as our lending partner on this $2 million new investment in Nassau County which will provide access to affordable Assisted Living Facility care for many families.” Said Adkins.

“This award was a real surprise, it is an honor most Administrators never realize and it is very special to bring this home to Nassau County and to also win a seat and have a voice in helping shape the future of Florida’s ALF care for Florida.” Said Adkins.
