Fernandina Beach Police Department encourages responsible disposal of prescriptions

Fernandina Beach Police Department
Press Release
October 27, 2020

Friends, this weekend the FBPD participated in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day and collected over 40 pounds of unused or expired prescriptions. But you don’t have to wait for the next Take Back Day to dispose of unused or expired prescriptions. The FBPD provides this service each weekday during business hours.

Unused and expired prescriptions are often, lost, stolen, misused by family members or mistakenly confused with current prescriptions.

We encourage our community members to bring any unused or expired prescriptions to the Fernandina Beach Police Department located at 1525 Lime Street and dispose of them in our secure bin located in the lobby. These prescription medications are collected and properly disposed of at regular intervals. Spread the word, we’ll be glad to take those drugs off your hands!
