Signup now for ACT Summer Camp to be held June 27 – July 9.

The two-week Musical Theatre Camp will be held from June 27 – July 9, with all campers cast in a production of Into the Woods, Jr.   This award-winning Broadway musical tells the story of a witch’s curse and a journey to reverse the spell, as told by characters from favorite childhood tales, with music by Stephen Sondheim.  Ages 8-12 attend camp from 9:15 a.m. until 12:15 p.m., with a tuition of $275.    Ages 13-17 attend from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., with tuition of $300.  There is no camp on July 4.  Campers will rehearse and have daily acting workshops, led by co-directors Lisa Howard-Welch and Geoffrey Moss, with a focus on three actor tools, improvisation, and character.    Performances of the musical will be at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on July 9.

Campers in the two-week Adventures in Shakespeare camp will present an abridged version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies.  It’s a story of forest mishaps, mischievous fairies, hilarious shapeshifting, and jealous lovers. This camp, for ages 13-18, will be held July 11-23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Tuition is $225.  Educator and director Lisa Howard-Welch will guide campers through the fundamentals of interpretation of the text, while they study meter and punctuation and explore the basics of character work and three actor tools.   Camp performances will be at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on July 23.
