How to Pitch Your Novel

The Amelia Island Writers are presenting a free workshop on pitching an idea for a novel. It will be hosted by Rachel Glover on Feb. 27, 2024, from 3 to 5 p.m. The workshop will take place at Story & Song at 1430 Park Ave, Fernandina Beach.

Pitching a novel to literary agents is one of the most important steps for getting a novel published traditionally and sold on bookshelves around the world. At this workshop, writers will present the following to fellow writers posing as “literary agents:” query letter, a one-page synopsis, and an oral pitch (all of which should be completed prior to the workshop). Self-published authors are also encouraged to participate, as some literary agents consider acquiring self-published work. You do not have to register to attend this workshop.
