Ferst Readers of Nassau County is once again partnering with Nassau County Public Schools for our 4th Annual Coin Drive Fundraiser during Florida Literacy Week, Jan. 23-27.
This is one of our largest fundraisers and allows us to continually mail books to 900 Nassau County children, birth to age 5, every month at no cost to families.
One of our 2023 goals is to send books to the children enrolled in the Head Start Program. Callahan Head Start has started receiving their books and we are hoping Fernandina Beach Head Start will begin receiving books by March/April. Impacting literacy outcomes are essential to strengthening our community.
Since the program started in Nassau County in 2016, we have mailed more that 53,000 books to almost 2,000 children.
