The audience at the Fernandina Beach City Commission (FBCC) May 4, 2021 Regular Meeting, broke out in a series of “aw’s” as a representative of the Nassau Humane Society introduced 10 week-old Jacob to commissioners.  Jacob has had his shots and has been neutered.  He is ready to be adopted.  He will probably grow to 50 pounds or more.

Jacob definitely won the award for cuteness at the Tuesday meeting.  So much so that members of the Fernandina Beach Police Department, who were standing by to receive a proclamation, lobbied Chief Mark Foxworth to adopt him as station dog.

For more information on animals available for fostering or adoption, visit the Nassau Humane Society’s website https://nassauhumane.org — or just drop by to visit at 641 Airport Road. The shelter is open afternoons daily except Mondays and closed on major holidays.
