Florida Department of Health Updates New COVID-19 Cases, Announces Forty-Four Deaths Related to COVID-19

~106,743 positive cases in Florida residents and 2,271 positive cases in non-Florida residents~

Test results for more than 36,300 individuals were reported to DOH as of midnight, on Tuesday, June 23. Today, as reported at 11 a.m., there are:

• 5,508 new positive COVID-19 cases (5,437 Florida residents and 71 non-Florida residents)
• 44 Florida resident deaths related to COVID-19

On June 23, 15.91 percent of new cases** tested positive.

There are a total of 109,014 Florida cases*** with 3,281 deaths related to COVID-19.

Since June 23, the deaths of forty-four Florida residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have been reported in Charlotte, Collier, Dade, Hendry, Hillsborough, Martin, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota and St. Lucie counties.

Nassau County Emergency Management:

As of 11:00 AM, June 24, 2020, FDOH Nassau has two new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

1) 44 year old male who had contact with a confirmed case and no travel-related exposure
2) 44 year old female who had contact with a confirmed case and no travel-related exposure

The Health Department is conducting case investigation and contact tracing on these cases. The individuals will remain in isolation until released by public health. This brings the total case count to date to 128 for Nassau County (120 residents, 8 non-FL residents).

As of today’s date, one COVID patient is hospitalized and 77 of 120 positive residents have been released from isolation.
