Amelia Island Birders take part in one of their scheduled field trips.

Spring Migration has started but this field trip should find several species of Warblers not seen here in winter or summer. This week I observed new migrants such as a Prothonotary Warbler and a Blue-headed Vireo. Reports from the Keys had many new species arriving such as Painted Bunting and Scarlet Tanagers.

Meet at the Fort Clinch beach parking lot near the bird feeders at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Prior to this field trip, I will do some scouting to determine areas of the park with good migrant activity.

Should weather conditions prevent a problem, I will send an email to alert you of any change in plans.  Non-members are always welcomed.  To be added to the email list click here.

We will also have 2 additional field trips during spring migration.

Please hold Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 10:30 am for a field trip to Egan’s Greenway. The last field trip of this season will be Saturday morning May 1, 2021 at the Bailey Soccer Fields and Crane Island.
