Walkers, bike riders, and beach goers enjoyed a beautiful morning at Fort Clinch State Park . As previously reported, the park opens at 8:00 a.m. According to the state park’s updated phone message, the park now closes at sunset. The campgrounds and fort are closed.
You can help protect state park staff and others by bringing exact change for your entrance fee. Another option is paying online for day use. For annual pass holders, your pass expiration date is extended for two months.
Admission Fee
$6 per vehicle (2 to 8 people).
$4 single-occupant vehicle.
$2.50 per person for fort admission.
$2 pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass.
According to Alexandra Kuchta of Florida Department of Environmental Protection, “Restrooms are available, however, all other park facilities are closed – this includes access to the concessionaire and campgrounds. Visitors are expected to maintain distances of at least six feet apart and limit group size to ten or fewer people
As these parks are re-opening, DEP is taking measures to ensure the protection of staff and the public. To make transactions safer, online payment for day-use park admissions is now available here. Fort Clinch State Park is accepting payment at the gate, but we request exact change to minimize contact.”

- Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park (Miami-Dade County)
- Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park (Broward County)
- John D. MacArthur Beach State Park (Palm Beach County)
- Oleta River State Park (Miami-Dade County)
- The Barnacle Historic State Park (Miami-Dade County)
Too bad you aren’t allowed to sit on the beach at Fort Clinch. No chairs, blankets, etc.
Holy smokes, the gall of our state tyrannical government. They are literally charging a fee to do nothing but drive down the road. With the exception of one bathroom you can’t get in the fort you can’t get it get in the campgrounds and you can’t put a blanket on the beach. Sounds a lot like Communist China to me. I’m surprised they don’t require you to have a smart phone so they can track your every movement! God bless our dumb down nation.
