The Amelia Island Genealogical Society (AIGS) will feature George G. Morgan as guest speaker at its 25th Anniversary Genealogy Seminar. This Seminar was originally planned for September 9, 2017, but had to be rescheduled due to Hurricane Irma, and is now set for Saturday, April 21, 2018. Whether you are an experienced genealogist or have just started to research your ancestry, don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to listen to one of the most respected and entertaining speakers on this popular subject.
Morgan is president of Aha! Seminars, Inc., and an internationally recognized genealogy expert who presents in the U.S., Canada, England, on cruise ships, and webinars. He is a prolific, award-winning author of hundreds of articles for magazines, journals, newsletters, in genealogical publications, and at online sites internationally. His twelfth book, the fourth edition How to Do Everything: Genealogy, was released in January 2015. He is a regular writer for the Association of Professional Genealogists Quarterly, Family Tree Magazine, Internet Genealogy, and Your Genealogy Today. He was won writing awards from the Association of Professional Genealogists and the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors.
Morgan is co-host with Drew Smith of the longest running genealogical podcast, The Genealogy Guys Podcast, and his company produces the Genealogy Connection podcast at http://genealogyguys.com. The podcasts have been downloaded over 2.5 million times by thousands of listeners around the globe.

Principles for Effective Evidence Analysis
This lecture discusses the principles of highly effective genealogical evidence analysis and shows examples of capturing all the clues to expand and improve your research.
Dissect Obituaries for New Clues
This session presents a methodology for dissecting an obituary, determining what information is provided or inferred, identifying record types that may be available, where those records are located, and how to access them.
Sidestep Genealogy
This presentation will make you stop and think about what alternative research paths you might use, and point you to new resources you may never have considered.
Join us for an information-packed fun event on April 21 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2800 S. 14th St., Fernandina Beach. The Seminar will last from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sign-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. The registration fee is $30 for AIGS members and $35 for nonmembers.
