Press Release
June 9, 2016 9:00 a.m.
James C. Dubberly, Jr., (Jimmy) is a Fernandina Beach native and a graduate of Fernandina Beach High School. After graduation Jimmy joined the military and served 21 years in the US Coast Guard. Being in the Coast Guard afforded him the opportunity to serve under the Captain of the Port and work with many Ports all across the United States. During his military career, Jimmy continued his studies and earned his undergraduate degree in Business Management and Master Degrees in Business Administration and Human Resources.
After retiring from the US Coast Guard Jimmy went to work for Raytheon where he was a Business Development consultant for several US Ports. Today Jimmy works for IBM in the same capacity as a Business Development consultant for several US and foreign Port Authorities.
Jimmy decided to run for Ocean Highway & Port Authority because he was tired of watching this Port not contributing to our county. Having read about how the Port Commissioners are not willing to work with the local municipalities like the City of Fernandina and county residents it is time for a change. Since the Port was given Special Districting by the Governor of Florida in the early 80’s. The Port of Fernandina Beach has not contributed anything to the county or its residents.
The definition of Insanity, Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result’s. – Albert Einstein.
It is time to stop the insanity and change the way the Port is currently conducting business. The Port needs to be an entity that we can all be proud of in our county.

Looks like the right guy for the job. We need someone that will allow Home Rule to Nassau County, as it is allowed in most other counties concerning port authorities.
Where do I sign on to Support Mr. Dubberlys Vision of a Port/ Community Collaborative? I guess the place to start is at the Voting Booth. Thank You Sir.
HUGE improvement over Pat Gass and her backdoor political agenda. We need someone who will FINALLY hold the ports accountable, not give them free reign like Pat Gass has been and wants to continue to do.
