Crime Stoppers offer reward for armed robberies

The Fernandina Beach Police Department and First Coast Crime Stoppers is teaming up to help solve two recent armed robberies. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $3000.00, if the information given leads to an arrest.

On August 1, 2013 a local business manager was shot while making a night deposit at First Coast Community Bank, located at 1750 South 14th Street.

robbery 2On August 28, 2013 the Subway restaurant located at 1722 South 8th Street was robbed at gunpoint by a lone suspect.

It has not been determined if the two robberies are related however the suspect description in both incidents is similar. In both robberies the suspect is described as a black male approximately 5’09” to 5’11” with a slender build.

The victim at the First Coast Community Bank robbery further described the suspect as having unkempt facial hair and wearing a grey hoodie sweatshirt. Video from the Subway robbery shows the suspect wearing a grey sweat shirt, dark “Dickies” style workpants and black and white athletic shoes.
